Effective Feedback
Explore evidence-based approaches to using feedback more effectively with your students.
This course examines what current research tells us works best and details how teachers can use feedback to improve student learning outcomes.
Course Content
Lesson One: Introduction
This introductory lesson provides a brief overview of feedback, emphasising that the most effective feedback is planned and focused on important key aspects.
Lesson Two: The Four Key ingredients of Effective Feedback
This lesson unpacks Hattie and Timperley’s ‘Model of Effective Feedback’ while incorporating the ideas of other researchers such as Deci and Dweck. Developing a deeper understanding of these theoretical approaches provides both an opportunity for reflection on your current approach to feedback and a strong foundation for considering the feedback strategies suggested in Lesson 3.
Lesson Three: Classroom Strategies
Lesson Three suggests practical strategies that are simple to incorporate into your day to day classroom practice.
Lesson Four: Resources
In this lesson, you will find resources to assist in the implementation of feedback strategies as well as suggested further reading to extend your understanding of particular areas of interest.
